Have you listened to Gone Girl? The Silent Wife? The Girl on the Train? If so, The Girl Before should be next on your list. This dark thriller takes you into the lives of two house inhabitants–one current tenant, and one previous tenant, whose tragic cause of death has remained mysteriously unsolved.
Told from the alternating perspectives of two girls, Emma and Jane, the two distinct narrators will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very start. Not only are the two narrators engaging, but the house itself also adds to the story. The sleek, modern, and almost frigidly lifelike house will make you uneasy. As the story unfolds, you will hang on to every word, guessing what the girls got up to at One Folgate Street, and wondering if the current tenant can make it out without facing the same fate.
