LA Festival of Books
Fun and Sun at LA Times Festival of Books

Penguin Random House Audio spent a sunny (and very hot) weekend sharing our love of audiobooks with book lovers in Los Angeles last weekend at the LA Times Festival of Books.

For visitors stopping by our booth, we gave away a free download of The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend (a fantastic read for any book lover). There was also a chance to spin our always-popular prize wheel. Prizes included water bottles, tee shirts, phone speakers, earbuds with a wallet, and even some audiobooks for our grand-prize winners.

Not only did we chat with folks at our booth, but we also had a couple of panels featuring a few of our authors and narrators. Jesse Bernstein, the narrator of The Lightning Thief, and Tara Sands, the narrator of Red, presented a delightful narration experience for families and children. A few lucky kids were able to direct Jesse and Tara as they narrated sections of The Lightning Thief and Red.

One of our authors, George Saunders, and his audiobook producer, Kelly Gildea, were on a panel about the audiobook production of Lincoln in the Bardo. With a cast of 166 narrators, there was a lot to talk about! George even stopped by our booth to sign copies of the audiobook.

We enjoyed sharing our love of audiobooks with everyone in LA!
