Getting Started with Sourdough: The Audiobook You Knead

Home bread baking is taking kitchens by storm, and both aspiring and seasoned dough-slingers alike can now listen to a mini master class in sourdough from James Beard Award winner Chad Robertson, co-owner of the renowned Tartine Bakery, and head baker Jennifer Latham, authors and narrators of Getting Started with Sourdough, now available as an audiobook exclusive. Plus, peep a new perfect-for-summer recipe from the baking duo below!

As more home bakers tend sourdough starters and practice rising, proofing, shaping, and baking their own loaves, many have found the process confusing and intimidating, and top-notch sourdough can be challenging even for pros. Robertson and Latham have taught hundreds of professional bakers to perfect a deeply flavorful crust and custardy crumb using the method they developed at Tartine, and in Getting Started With Sourdough they explain how and why natural yeast makes the most delicious, healthy, and versatile bread. They also recommend baking tools and ingredients, including the best flour to use and how to establish and maintain a sourdough starter.

Getting Started with Sourdough is available exclusively as an audiobook, allowing bakers to soak up Robertson and Latham’s expertise and follow their step-by-step method hands-free in the kitchen while working with their dough. In the fall of 2021, Ten Speed Press will publish a new full-length print book that teaches Robertson’s and Latham’s latest techniques and innovations for a wide range of bread styles.
