Picture this: You’re curled up on the couch, warm drink in hand, getting ready to listen to your latest audiobook when you realize you have nowhere to put your mug! After this happened to me more than once, I set out to fix this once and for all…and to do it with style! Below is the pattern I followed to make my Monstera leaf coasters and their plant holder, along with some audiobook recs to keep you company while you work!
The Coasters
For the coasters, I followed this pattern from “Make It Yourself by Papari” on YouTube: Crochet Monstera Leaves Wall Hanging Tutorial.
I listened to an audiobook while I worked on the coasters, so I feel I must recommend Someone Else’s Shoes by Jojo Moyes! This story of misunderstandings and second chances follows two women from very different walks of life: Nisha Cantor, the globetrotting, wealthy wife who is suddenly cutoff during her divorce, and Sam Kemp, a mom who’s struggling just to keep her head above water. When Sam accidentally takes Nisha’s red six-inch Louboutin shoes home from the gym, she realizes that a small change can make a big difference. With Jojo Moyes’s signature wit and Daisy Ridley’s impeccable narration, Someone Else’s Shoes is a perfect listen to accompany you on this crafting journey!

The Pot
For the pot which will hold your coasters, I followed this pattern from MummaJCrochet on YouTube, who has a video tutorial here: How To Crochet A Terracotta Pot, Crochet Pot For Cacti or Flowers)!
Needing another audiobook rec while you work on your container? I absolutely adored Parini Shroff’s Bandit Queens. This debut novel set in an Indian village is the story of Geeta, a widow with a big secret: her dead husband—who others in the town think she killed—actually left her five years ago. Now, the women of the town have started coming to Geeta for “expert” opinion on how they should get rid of their own husbands, and not everyone is asking nicely. Filled with strong women, heart, and humor, this is one story that’s sure to stick with you!
