Bring the Family to Our Activities!

If you’re coming to Comic Con with the whole family, we’ve got some great audio activities that you can all enjoy together! You can meet some of our award-winning audiobook narrators, listen to special audiobook clips, and leave with some new artwork for your fridge. Here are all the details—we hope to see you there!

Ready, Set, Listen! – Storytime Drawing
Sunday, October 9th
12:00 PM – 12:45 PM
Location: 1E16 (Lower Level, Under Glass Atrium)

When you listen to a story, what do you see? What does the character, or the setting look like? Use your imagination to draw what you hear during this session presented by Listening Library and featuring audio clips from classic children’s books. Take home some new art for your fridge and tips and ideas for having fun with audiobooks on your next family road trip!

If you’re not attending NYCC this day, you can still participate from home! Check out our Ready, Set, Listen drawing prompt and create a seen from Grimm’s Fairy Tales.

Sunday, October 9th
2:15 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: 1E15 (Lower Level, Under Glass Atrium)

A fun new way to play with storytime! Award-winning audiobook narrators January LaVoy (Grimm’s Fairy Tales) and Marc Thompson (Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back So You Want to be a Jedi?) take turns at the mic, adding a unique twist to the art of telling a story. But they’ll need your help to make these stories laugh-out-loud funny. Audience participation is encouraged at this interactive, imaginative storytelling session.
